Salfords own Hazel Blears has been appointed as Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government. Hazel a former Salford councillor is well aware of the challenges. Salford has been at the forefront of devolving budgets to the community level and welcomes this appointment in the  hope that as party, we can now make a real difference at the community level and truly empower local people.
