Funeral Details – Maureen Lea

I have now been informed of the funeral details as follows:
Friday 23 January, 2009
Cortege will leave 33 Lawnswood Drive, Swinton at 1.40 pm
Cortege will pass by the Civic Centre between 1.50/1.55 pm
Service is at 2.00 pm in St. Peter’s Parish Church, Chorley Road, Swinton
Family only service at Eccles Crematorium at 3.00 pm
Refreshments in the Salford Suite, Salford Civic Centre at 3.45 pm onwards
I am advised it is family flowers only. Donations are to St. Ann’s Hospice, Little Hulton and should be sent to the undertakers who are handling the funeral, details of which are below:

Councillor Maureen Lea

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Councillor Maureen Lea has passed away. Our thoughts are with her husband Bernard and all the family at this sad time.

Maureen was a wonderul woman and an inspiration to us all. She was a fantastic mentor to me personally.

She will be greatly missed.

Worsley & Eccles CLP AGM

This years AGM will be held at the Jolly Carter, Worsley Road, Winton on Thursday 26th February at 7:30pm.

All wards will been notified for the nomination of officers. Please return these forms promptly.

Also on the agenda will be dates and location of future meetings. Please send any suggestions for the location to the CLP secretary.

Tories ‘can keep outside jobs’ – From the FT.

David Cameron has dropped plans to force his shadow cabinet to axe their lucrative outside jobs in the new year, following threats of a revolt by senior Tories.

The onset of recession will add weight to Labour jibes that Mr Cameron’s “two-jobs team” is not devoting its full attention to mitigating the impact of the downturn.
