Irwell Riverside

Party members were out in force today talking to the residents of the Dutchy Estate. The local councillors were on hand to help residents with any issues raised.

Cllr John Mullen from Barton ward stated ” I am delighted with the response from residents. They are very positive about the area and what was most heartening was the high level of party support in the area.”

A message from John Ferguson.

Hello everybody.

The adrenalin’s still pumping after a hectic few weeks (I’ve lost track of time) and an even more hectic day yesterday. But all the effort was worth it.

Can I thank you for all the work that you put in to ensure a great result for the Labour Party. I have to admit that I was truly amazed from the first day of campaigning to see the numbers of people who were coming out to help, not just from within Salford but beyond as well. I won’t single out individuals for specific mention – I will be sure to miss somebody out! But can I pay special thanks to Young Labour and LGBT Labour for the enthusiasm they put into the campaign.

Apart from keeping our seat on the council, the campaign of telephoning and speaking to the people on their doorsteps has resulted in new members joining the party – the last one at 8pm last night! To those of you who have helped but are not members of the party, can I encourage you to join us. All it takes is following the link below.

Since last May’s election we have increased our total vote, increased our share of the vote and increased our majority. Truly remarkable in the difficult times we are currently in.

The results are shown on the item below.

Once again very many thanks
