Val Burgoyne, pictured recently in conversation with local young people, was saddened when she heard that young people are just as fearful as older people when out on the streets . She has just managed to get an alley-gating order brought in for a part of Swinton South which will stop criminals and other people behaving anti-socially making a quick escape from the scene of their wrongdoings.

Val said, “This is just the first phase of a scheme that will, I believe, make everyone in the area feel safer and lead to a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour.”
