The Hub Is Getting Closer To Being A Reality!

Cllr King spoke of The Hub and how close the plans were to getting to the Planning Panel. There has been an extensive amount of time used to consult on the internal layout to accommodate all the communities in the area and to work within the projected budget some external design features have had to be looked at again. Councillor King stressed, “This is still got to be a landmark, a statement of building design that enhances the immediate area but also tells the people of Broughton there is a place to house their different and changing community needs over the next half a century”.

There have been discussions relating to security and the ‘perceived fear’ of increased ‘anti-social behaviour’ in the area’ when the Hub is opened. Specific ‘design against crime’ in the designing of the Hub and it’s surrounding area means that this is not foreseen to cause further delay in it’s development. here will be a meeting of the three Councillors, Architects and Officers’ from Urban Vision later this month to ensure they are up to date with the existing proposals before plans are submitted to the Planning Panel.
