A statement regarding recent emails & comments.
“We welcome comments on matters raised here. However this Site has been set up for issues relating to Local Government in Salford City. It is accepted that currently matters related to MP’s expenses are of concern. Matters relating specifically to any of the City’s 3 MP’s - Hazel Blears, Barbara Keeley or Ian Stewart will be referred to them or their office for a response.”

What a cop out. Isn’t it the constituency party that selects - or de-selects - the candidate? Didn’t the CLP make a statement on 19May on this site about MPs expenses? And now you are getting some unfavourable comment you say nothing to do with us.
In her interview with the MEN yesterday Ms Blears said she didn’t realise her resignation would have such an impact. A senior minister resigns two days before an election and she thought no-one would notice? She is either not telling the truth or she is exhibiting extremely poor judgement. Either way - it calls into question her standing as a candidate for the Salford CLP. This isn’t a question for the MPs office. It’s a question for the CLP.
This website is pointless if you cant comment on the current issues that are a concern to the people of Salford…why be so elusive…its no wonder the Salford labour party is getting stick if it refuses to
Its no wonder the Salford labour party is getting stick when it refuses to accept valid comments on expenses on its own website.
Hey nice job on restricting comments - have you thought of getting jobs in Iran? Maybe you could have the comments you don’t like just blacked out?
I’m a lifetime labour voter from the area. I’ve just registered after last nights vote to say that if any of you people up there have a job after the next election I will be ASTONISHED.
I see that the CLP now condones what Lady Blears admits too not real another labour vote gone ‘get blears out’
If my local MP here was to act in Blears manner they would feel the wroth of the local Party.
I cannot understand the selection committe supporting a cheat.
Show courage Hazel and leave Parliament, after all you have experience of resigning.
Sorry, my computer keeps crashing-I posted a comment earlier about the Royal Bank of Scotland job advertised at £9 million+.
Id be grateful if other members of the Salford Labour party would tell me their views.

I would like to know why all Salford labour members werent notified or invited to attend the meeting at the Civic centre (held approx 3wks ago) to discuss Hazels actions?
As usual, the first I knew of it was when it was announced on Sky News.
Its really not on!
Out of interest….do any labour councillors ever look at this website? In this techno age (heavily supported by SCC) its diabolical that the parties own website is so shockingly under utilised….what a waste, never mind the cost! This site needs updating for members and interested partes with regular information and blogs on Labour Cllrs activities.. just like Iain Lindleys…I note certain Labour cllrs are quick enough to reply to comments posted on his wesite.
Come on Cllrs, tell us whats going on up at the Civic, or at least whats goes down at full council meetings..have you had a bunfight with opposition cllrs that you want to tell us about? Come on, dont be so elusive.
I am attending the Salford Star Meeting tonight at the Pendlebury Bowling Club.
I hope some of the Salford CLP will be present to put their views across as to why they have decided to stick with Hazel Blears at the next General Election.
Come on Salford CLP get your heads out the sand.
