Hilary Benn has vowed to scrap the Tories’ notorious national planning policy framework and hand planning powers back to local communities.
The Labour party is proud of its long record in Salford. Since 1920 it has been working for the rights and benefit of all of Salford’s citizens. We are all now facing an horrendous attack on public services which is hitting the most vulnerable in our communities.
In these austere times we are working to make the best from this cruel governments austerity programme. The ConDem government is making cuts which have to be implemented by Labour councils up and down the country and in Salford we are trying our hardest to offset any cuts which hurt those least able to bear it.

Petition Against Salford Post Office Closures

The residents of Salford oppose the proposal to close Salford City and Swinton Crown Post Offices, and franchise the Post Office services. The Crown Post Office provides an invaluable service to the community and, in particular, the elderly and disadvantaged.
We therefore ask the Council on our behalf to present this petition to the Crown Post Office and Post Office Limited.
The petition will be handed to Hazel Blears MP to be presented to Parliament.
